Pick a standard electric insert instead and you’ll get the warmth, but you’ll always know it’s electric. What Makes It Special The Revillusion flame effect puts the flames where a real fire puts them. A partially frosted, translucent panel lets flames rise from within the logs , and because you can see clear through the fire to the back of the firebox, you get depth, not a picture of depth —with no lamp reflections in the glass. The logs are Realogs— handcrafted from real wood —with inner lights that pulse like live coals. The remote adjusts the light color and intensity, so the fire on a quiet Tuesday can look different from the fire on game night. The fan-forced heater warms up to 1,000 square feet on demand—enough for a large family room. In July, run the flames without the heat for pennies a night. Possible Downsides • Black is the only backer on this model; the same firebox comes in Neutral Brick, Herringbone, and Weathered Concrete versions if you want a masonry look. • Heat is fan-forced only, so the fan runs whenever the heater does. • Installation trim is optional, not included; 38″ and 44″ black trim kits are sold separately.
