What Makes It Special Most electric fireplaces put a mirror behind the flame, so you see the fire twice—and your lamp along with it. The Revillusion uses a partially frosted acrylic panel instead, so the flames appear from within the logs and you can see straight through the fire to the brick backer behind it, the way you’d look into a real firebox . The logs are Realogs— handcrafted from real wood , with lights inside that give off a slow, pulsating glow like coals settling in for the evening. Between the logs, the flames, and the brick behind them, the scene has a depth a flat flame video can’t fake. When you want heat, the fan-forced heater warms up to 1,000 square feet on demand. Possible Downsides • Heat is fan-forced , so warming the room means the fan is running; there is no fan-free heat setting. • Full heating output requires being wired in by an electrician ; on the included plug kit and a standard outlet, it heats at a lower output.
