What Makes It Special This fire is lit from above as well as below. Built-in top lights illuminate the flames and the media bed , so the driftwood or glass reads rich and dimensional instead of disappearing into a dark firebox. The included remote runs everything—on and off, thermostat, flame height, blower speed, and the lights—and the eFire app puts the same controls on your phone. It also doesn’t quit when the grid does. With the battery backup control, the fireplace still lights and still makes heat with the power out —as long as you’ve kept four AA batteries in it. The blower goes quiet, but the fire keeps working. And if you’re picturing a TV above it, the optional Universal Heat Management system moves heat away from the wall, lowering clearances so electronics can hang safely above the fireplace .
